Delhi Premier League 2025: Full schedule, teams and format details

elhi Premier League 2025

The second edition of the Delhi Premier League (DPL) will begin on August 2, 2025, with last year’s finalists, South Delhi Supermarts and East Delhi Riders, facing off in the first match of the season at the iconic Arun Jaitley Stadium. The much-awaited men’s tournament will run till August 31, with September 1 being a reserve day for the final.

With the addition of two new teams this season, the second season of the DPL will be even bigger and better. This season, the number of men’s league-stage matches will be 40, up from the 30 matches played last season. The league matches will be played between eight teams divided into two groups. Each team will play 10 matches, with members of one group playing their home and away matches and one match against teams from the other group. The top four teams will advance to the playoffs, which will follow the familiar IPL format: Qualifier 1, Eliminator, Qualifier 2 and Final.

This time around, the IPL will feature several names, including Rishabh Pant (Old Delhi 6), Harshit Rana (North Delhi Strikers) and Nitish Rana (West Delhi Lions), giving the league a strong national identity. Pant, in particular, is expected to be the face of the tournament. India’s tour of England ends on August 4, so Pant has plenty of time to play.

As per the official schedule, the DPL will have two matches almost every day, giving the spectators plenty of action to watch. All the matches will be played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. The women’s final will be held on August 24.
