England-W defeated South Africa-W by 10 wickets in the 4th match of the CWC: The fourth match of the ongoing Women’s World Cup 2025 was played between the England and South Africa women’s teams on Friday, October 2nd. England defeated South Africa by 10 wickets in a one-sided match at the Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati.

To give you a detailed account of the match, England won the toss and decided to bowl, a decision their bowlers proved to be absolutely correct. The entire South African team was restricted to just 69 runs in 20.4 overs against the English team’s excellent bowling.
Only wicketkeeper Sinalo Jafta managed a best innings of 22 runs for South Africa. No other African batsman could score a significant innings. Captain Laura Bulford made 5, and Marizanne Kapp made just 4.

On the other hand, England women’s team saw excellent bowling from all their bowlers. Linsey Smith took three wickets, while Nat Seward Brunt, Sophie Aselton, and Charlie Dean each took two wickets. Lauren Bell also took one wicket.
After this, England chased down the easy target of 70 runs set by South Africa, easily achieving it in 41.1 overs without losing a wicket. Opener Tammy Beaumont scored 21* off 35 balls, while wicketkeeper Amy Jones remained unbeaten on 40* off 50 balls.
With this one-sided victory, England has made a strong start to the eight-nation tournament, sending a message to other teams not to take the English team lightly.
